Private Equity–Backed Deals Hit 5-Year High

Law360, Los Angeles (April 4, 2013, 10:12 PM EDT) -- In the first quarter of 2013, 665 private equity–backed buyouts with a total value of $87 billion were announced globally, a 112 percent increase from the $41 billion seen in the same quarter last year, according to a report Thursday by U.K.-based consultant Preqin Ltd.
