CFTC Gives Utility Deals A Pass, Easing Turf War With FERC

Law360, New York (April 5, 2013, 9:38 PM EDT) -- By exempting major electricity transmission transactions from Dodd-Frank Act–mandated regulation, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission kept a territorial fight with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission from spreading and eased industry concerns by ensuring that FERC will remain the primary regulator of those transactions, attorneys say.
