As Suits Decline, Lawyers Say Cos. Have Wised Up

Law360, New York (January 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- For at least the past three years, fewer and fewer plaintiffs have been bringing labor and employment disputes before federal courts, a trend that continued in 2007 with a 9% drop, according to Law360's annual litigation survey.

Management-side labor and employment lawyers say the overall decline demonstrates that employers have modified the way they deal with workers to address the issues that lead to higher numbers of new actions being filed.
