Pa. PUC Won't Revise Retail Electricity Marketing Rules

Law360, Philadelphia (April 5, 2013, 5:50 PM EDT) -- The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission said Thursday that it would not limit the definition of “agents” bound by recently-approved regulations governing marketing and sales practices used by state electricity generators and natural gas suppliers looking to court new customers.

The commission rejected a plea by the Pennsylvania chapter of the Retail Energy Supply Association asking that the regulations' definition of agents soliciting on behalf of electric and gas suppliers be limited so as to reduce any potential liability facing utilities.
