Prom Dress Store Accused Of Spying To Dominate Market

Law360, Los Angeles (April 5, 2013, 8:14 PM EDT) -- Chicago-area upstart dress seller Hannah's Boutique Inc. hit the more established Peaches Boutique with a multimillion-dollar antitrust lawsuit Friday, alleging it used hardball tactics such as slander and espionage to corner the local women's apparel market.

In a complaint filed in Illinois federal court, Hannah's claims Peaches sought to obtain and maintain a dominant position in the northern Illinois, northwest Indiana and southern Wisconsin prom, homecoming and evening dress market by contracting with dress designers to freeze out Hannah's as a business partner.
