UPS Appeals EU Block Of $6.8B Merger With TNT

Law360, New York (April 8, 2013, 12:38 PM EDT) -- United Parcel Service Inc. lodged a formal appeal last week of the recent decision by European antitrust regulators to block its $6.8 billion proposed acquisition of Dutch delivery company TNT Express NV.

The appeal was filed in the European General Court in Luxembourg “late last week,” but the company didn't cite a specific day. It comes two months after the European Commission said the proposed tie-up would excessively restrict competition for express delivery of small packages in Europe.
