Ex-Covington Atty Tapped As CFTC General Counsel

Law360, New York (April 9, 2013, 7:44 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission has appointed former Covington & Burling LLP appellate practice attorney Jonathan Marcus as its new general counsel, the commission said Tuesday.

Marcus, who has been the commission’s deputy general counsel for litigation over the past two years, will take over for the commission’s previous general counsel Dan Berkovitz, who stepped down in March, according to a Tuesday statement by the commission.
