Federal Circuit Tosses Sicom Suit For Lack Of Standing

Law360 (October 20, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Sicom Systems Inc. did not have the right to sue Agilent Technologies for patent infringement, the U.S. District Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit said in a ruling that upheld a lower court decision to dismiss the case.

The court ruled that a patent for digital signal transmission monitoring could not be asserted by Sicom, because the right to litigate the patent belonged to the government of Canada.
