Intel Finalizing Response To EC's Antitrust Charges

Law360, New York (January 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Chip manufacturer Intel Corp. will meet its Jan. 7 deadline to respond to European Commission allegations that it abused its dominant position in the microprocessor market, a company spokesman said Thursday.

The deadline was originally in October, but it was pushed back first until Jan. 4 and then to Jan. 7.

“We plan to meet that deadline,” said Intel spokesman Chuck Mulloy.

The response to the EC will be confidential, as were the EC's original charges, Mulloy added.
