Study Warns Pesticides May Cause Asthma In Women

Law360, New York (January 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Exposure to pesticides could put women who live on farms at a higher risk of developing asthma, according a study published in the Jan. 1 issue of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

Though previous studies had found a correlation between pesticide exposure and asthma among male farmers, little data was available on women living on farms. The study looked at nearly 26,000 women in Iowa and North Carolina.
