Marvell Pushes For Reduction Of $1.2B Patent Verdict

Law360, New York (April 12, 2013, 8:12 PM EDT) -- Marvell Technology Group Ltd. urged a Pennsylvania federal court on Friday to scale back the $1.2 billion judgment against it for allegedly infringing two Carnegie Mellon University patents, saying the university waited an unreasonably long time to sue.

Marvell’s brief on Friday supported its Feb. 11 motion for judgment on laches, calling for the court to reduce Carnegie Mellon’s spoils to penalize the university for waiting until 2009 to file suit about purported infringements that, according to Marvell, it was aware of back in 2001....
