Law360, New York (April 18, 2013, 2:56 PM EDT) -- An Ohio federal judge on Wednesday stayed Progressive Casualty Insurance Co.'s patent infringement cases against Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. and other insurers while the Patent Trial and Appeal Board reviews the patents under the new America Invents Act post-grant proceeding process.
U.S. District Judge Benita Pearson stayed the proceedings because the PTAB, in response to petitions from Liberty Mutual, opted earlier this year to re-examine every claim in the five patents.
