NJ May Adopt E-Records Model Championed By ABA

Law360, New York (April 18, 2013, 10:05 PM EDT) -- The New Jersey Law Revision Commission on Thursday considered enacting a new system for the electronic storage of government and legal documents, putting the state on track to join a select few that have adopted a model designed by the American Bar Association.

At its monthly meeting, the Law Revision Commission discussed its recommendation that New Jersey adopt the Uniform Electronic Legal Material Act, the ABA-proposed model for storing documents online, which would enable the state to adopt technologies to guarantee the authentication, preservation and accessibility...
