Webb Law Firm Accuses IP Rival Of Leeching Off Name

Law360, Los Angeles (April 19, 2013, 6:03 PM EDT) -- The Webb Law Firm PC lobbed a lawsuit Friday in Pennsylvania federal court, accusing Webb IP Law Group PLLC of diluting its trademark and leeching off its name recognition in order to confuse potential intellectual property litigation clients.

The long-running Pittsburgh-based IP legal shop filed the suit, saying it has used the name “The Webb Law Firm” since 1994, has been practicing patent law since 1845 and has used the surname of lawyer William Hess Webb in its business name since 1948.
