Export Controls Reform Has Arrived

Law360, New York (April 22, 2013, 12:31 PM EDT) -- The federal government recently put pen to paper as it published the first in a line of forthcoming rules and regulations implementing the Obama administration’s multiyear Export Control Reform Initiative.[1] These rules institute changes to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and the Export Administration Regulations. The changes include transitioning items from the ITAR’s United States Munitions List to the EAR’s Commerce Control List and adding the much-awaited “600 series” of items to the CCL.
