Natural Gas Cos. Pay $1M To End Antitrust Suit Over Leases

Law360, New York (April 22, 2013, 7:13 PM EDT) -- After rejecting a previous smaller agreement, a Colorado federal judge on Monday approved a revised $1 million settlement of an antitrust suit accusing Gunnison Energy Corp. and SG Interests Ltd. of conspiring not to compete with one another for natural gas leases.

U.S. District Judge Richard P. Matsch signed off on the agreement that orders each company to pay $275,000 to the U.S. Department of Justice for unfairly agreeing not to bid against one another for natural gas leases on government land, according to the motion....
