Chevron Breached Gas Well Contract, Project Partner Says

Law360, Philadelphia (April 22, 2013, 3:54 PM EDT) -- A Chevron subsidiary left itself open to $100 million in breach of contract claims by forging a new partnership to drill gas wells on 3,000 acres after its rights to the land were revoked, a Pennsylvania energy company has said in a brief in state court.

Mifflin Energy Corp., responding to Chevron Appalachia LLC's preliminary objections to its lawsuit, said April 16 that Chevron willfully ignored its attempts to terminate the joint partnership and forced it to go to court to retain its claim to subsurface...
