Novartis Reveals Probe Of Plant Quality Issues

Law360, New York (April 24, 2013, 6:48 PM EDT) -- Novartis AG announced Wednesday that two of its units were under civil and criminal investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice over alleged vaccine-related quality issues at their production facilities, compounding the company’s woes after being sued by the DOJ over another matter.

According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics Inc. had received a subpoena during the first quarter of 2013, asking for information related to an investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts....
