GOP Pushes Bill To Let New Yorkers Tell Pols 'You're Fired'

Law360, New York (April 24, 2013, 5:28 PM EDT) -- Weighing in on initiatives to crack down on public fraud after a spate of recent bribery arrests, a Republican lawmaker in the New York State Assembly told Law360 on Wednesday that the Empire State should consider amending its constitution to let voters give elected officials a pink slip.

Legislation sponsored by Clifton Park, N.Y., Republican James Tedisco would begin the process of making New York the 20th state in the county that allows voters to fire their elected representatives.
