Insurer Sues Power Plant Contractors Over Blast Coverage

Law360, New York (April 25, 2013, 6:37 PM EDT) -- North River Insurance Co. asked a Connecticut federal judge Wednesday to declare that it didn't owe coverage for part of a $37 million settlement stemming from an explosion at a Kleen Energy power plant, saying that two construction companies connected to the blast colluded to improperly exhaust underlying policies.

Keystone Construction & Maintenance Services Inc. and O&G Industries conspired to exhaust all of Keystone's underlying coverage for the natural gas explosion at the power plant in Middletown, Conn., the insurer alleges.
