Fed. Circ. Allows For Some Ambiguity In Patent Claims

Law360, New York (April 26, 2013, 5:00 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit ruled Friday that a Biosig Instruments Inc. patent for a heart rate monitor attached to exercise equipment was not overly nonspecific, declaring that patent claims can be ambiguous and open to interpretation to a point and still retain their validity, in a precedential decision reviving Biosig's infringement suit against Nautilus Inc.
