Bayer Must Answer Schering Stockholder Query: Court

Law360, New York (January 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Shareholders of the former Schering AG have won their lawsuit seeking to force their new parent, Bayer AG, to turn over information on its 2006 acquisition of Schering.

The ruling, handed down Wednesday in a German court, was reported by Dow Jones newswire Wednesday.

The shareholders wanted Bayer to answer several questions regarding the takeover, particularly the expectations Bayer had for the multiple sclerosis drug Betaseron and the evaluation Bayer made about possible cost savings and synergies.
