Union Can't Block Gov.'s Plan To Close Health Centers

Law360, Philadelphia (April 29, 2013, 6:33 PM EDT) -- Efforts by a Pennsylvania health care workers union to halt Gov. Tom Corbett's plan to shutter nearly 30 public health centers across the state suffered a blow on Thursday when a Commonwealth Court judge denied a petition seeking a preliminary injunction in the case.

Judge Keith Quigley issued an order rejecting the preliminary injunction petition filed on behalf of the Service Employees International Union-affiliate SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania and a group of Democratic state legislators alleging that Corbett’s plan to shutter 26 of 60 centers violated laws...
