Greek Gas Pipeline Co. Fined €4.3M For Abusing Dominance

Law360, New York (April 29, 2013, 4:55 PM EDT) -- A Greek oil and gas pipeline operator has abused its dominant position in the natural gas transmission market, the country's antitrust watchdog said Thursday, handing down a fine of just less than €4.3 million ($5.61 million) against the company.

The Hellenic Competition Commission unanimously determined that the operator of Greece's gas transmission system — the Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator SA, or DESFA — improperly denied Aluminium access to the network it operates.
