BP Spill Plaintiffs May Struggle To Show Economic Losses

Law360, New York (April 30, 2013, 8:09 PM EDT) -- Thousands of municipalities, businesses and individuals have recently scrambled to sue BP PLC for alleged economic losses stemming from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster ahead of a three-year statutory deadline, but experts say proving the oil giant caused those losses will be a legal hurdle many plaintiffs will find tough to clear.
