Plan B Approved For Ages 15 And Up Without Prescription

Law360, New York (April 30, 2013, 8:00 PM EDT) -- The Food and Drug Administration announced Tuesday that it has approved an application by Teva Women's Health Inc. to sell its emergency contraception, Plan B One-Step, to consumers at least 15 years old without a prescription.

The FDA said the decision was independent of a Brooklyn federal judge's order in April that the agency make levonorgestrel-based emergency contraceptives, including Plan B One Step, available over the counter without any age or point-of-sale restrictions.
