Fed. Circ. Affirms Versata's $391M Patent Win Against SAP

Law360, New York (May 1, 2013, 5:26 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit on Wednesday affirmed a jury verdict that SAP America Inc. infringed a Versata Software Inc. patent for a way of organizing pricing data and is liable for $391 million in damages.

The appeals court rejected SAP's arguments that its software cannot infringe the patent as a matter of law and that the lower court miscalculated lost profits and reasonable royalties.
