Org. Calls On Importers To Head Off Faulty Products

Law360, New York (January 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Importers should take the lead in ensuring that products imported from China and elsewhere meet U.S. standards of safety and quality, a new report from a leading quality watchdog has contended.

The American Society for Quality announced the release of its most recent quarterly quality report, “Sourcing in a World of Risk,” on Wednesday. The report attempts to respond to what it calls “a banner year for scares about the safety of products imported into the United States,” particularly those from China.
