Ex-Van Gilder Insurance CEO Cops To Insider Trading

Law360, New York (May 2, 2013, 7:21 PM EDT) -- The former CEO of Van Gilder Insurance Corp. on Thursday pled guilty to insider trading in Colorado federal court, following accusations he traded Delta Petroleum Corp. securities based on nonpublic information he received from the ex-head of Delta.

Before U.S. District Judge Wiley Y. Daniel, Michael Van Gilder, 46, copped to one count of securities fraud through unlawful insider trading while prosecutors agreed to drop four other insider trading charges.

Van Gilder was accused of buying 8,250 shares of Delta securities and 290 Delta call options...
