Archer Daniels Reserves $25M For Potential FCPA Settlement

Law360, New York (May 3, 2013, 2:18 PM EDT) -- Archer Daniels Midland Co. told investors Wednesday that it had set aside $25 million to resolve a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigation related to its grain and feed exports.

Archer Daniels, the largest corn processor in the world, has said it is in discussions with the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission related to potentially criminal foreign payments made by the company and its affiliates. The transactions at issue took place in 2008 and before, according to company filings.
