CORRECTED: Judge Pads Stryker's $4.5M Interest Award In Knee Suit

Law360, New York (May 3, 2013, 3:23 PM EDT) -- A federal judge on Friday padded Stryker Corp.’s $4.5 million prejudgment interest award by $75,000 in the company’s suit against XL Insurance America Inc. seeking coverage for litigation over its allegedly defective artificial knee.

In March, U.S. District Judge Robert Holmes Bell awarded Stryker $4.5 million in prejudgment penalty interest under section 500 of Michigan insurance law to cover the period from December 2001 to Feb. 2, 2009.
