Fla. Legislators OK $75B Budget, Can't Agree On Health Care

Law360, Miami (May 3, 2013, 10:26 PM EDT) -- The Florida Legislature passed the state's $74.5 billion appropriations budget Friday in the final hours of the legislative session, but failed to reach a consensus on how to expand health care coverage for low-income Floridians.

The House of Representatives passed the budget in a 106-11 vote shortly after the Senate voted unanimously to approve the legislation, which was the first in several years that did not feature drastic cuts necessary to balance the budget.
