Foreign Patent Applications Continue To Rise, Report Finds

Law360, Los Angeles (May 6, 2013, 5:07 PM EDT) -- Intellectual property outsourcing has become commonplace in the U.S., according to a report released Monday by foreign filing service provider Inovia, which found that more than half of those surveyed filed at least 50 percent of their patent applications overseas.

The results of the 2013 U.S. Global Patent & IP Trends Indicator, which reports how the economy has affected global intellectual property strategy and its influence on future foreign filing plans, were announced at the 135th annual meeting of the International Trademark Association in Dallas....
