Engineering Co. Allowed To See NASA's 'Robonaut' Drawings

Law360, New York (May 7, 2013, 6:09 PM EDT) -- A Minnesota robotics engineering firm can look at designs for the "robonaut" space robot that NASA developed with General Motors Corp., which the company claims infringes its patents, a federal judge ruled Monday.

Ross-Hime Designs Inc. alleges that the robonaut, a human-like robot that the space agency designed with GM to help astronauts in space with maintenance and other activities, infringes two of Ross-Hime's patents for robotic manipulators, U.S. Patent Numbers 5,967,580 and 6,658,962.
