Pfizer And Plaintiffs Fight Over Experts In Viagra Case

Law360, New York (January 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Pfizer Inc. defended its experts last week against the plaintiffs' motion to block them in the product liability litigation over Viagra.

The plaintiffs allege that Viagra causes non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), an eye condition that can cause partial or total blindness.

In a motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota on Thursday, Pfizer said the plaintiffs' motion to exclude the defendant's experts “improperly seeks to shift from plaintiffs to Pfizer the burden of coming forward with reliable expert evidence...
