SEC Asset Management Chief Jumps To Prudential

Law360, New York (May 9, 2013, 5:54 PM EDT) -- Bruce Karpati, who oversaw a recent private equity industry crackdown as head of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's asset management unit, has left the agency to become chief compliance officer for Prudential Financial Inc.'s mutual fund business, he said Thursday.

Karpati said he was stepping down as chief of the asset management unit, which he led since its inception in January 2010. His new role at Prudential Investments will begin May 13.
