Fla. High Court Won't Hear Green Groups' Sanctions Appeal

Law360, Miami (May 10, 2013, 8:02 PM EDT) -- The Florida Supreme Court on Thursday declined to take up an appeal by environmental groups who were sanctioned by a lower court for their “meritless appeal” of a decision approving changes to Martin County's growth-management plan.

In a one-paragraph ruling, the state high court said that though it had initially agreed to review a decision by the First District Court of Appeal to sanction the environmental groups, it had now decided that “jurisdiction was improvidently granted” and dismissed the appeal.
