German Watchdog Raids 9 Potato Cos. On Cartel Worries

Law360, New York (May 10, 2013, 3:58 PM EDT) -- German officials recently raided nine companies that produce and distribute potatoes for food retailers based on concerns the companies were fixing prices, the country's antitrust watchdog said Friday.

The German Federal Cartel Office simultaneously searched the facilities of nine companies in the potato industry on Wednesday, with 30 antitrust officials aided by local police forces, according to the agency.
