Carlyle Buys Minority Stake In Jordan's Nabil Foods

Law360, New York (May 13, 2013, 3:56 PM EDT) -- The Carlyle Group LP has acquired a minority equity stake in Jordan-based retail food company Al-Nabil Food Industries Co. Ltd. from its founding family for an undisclosed sum, Carlyle said Monday.

The private equity titan acquired a significant minority stake in Al-Nabil, better known as Nabil Foods, from the Rassam family, which founded the frozen and premade food company in 1945. The Rassams will retain majority control over the Amman-based firm.
