AB-InBev Scoops Up Beer Distributor Ahead Of New Law

Law360, New York (May 17, 2013, 2:03 PM EDT) -- Beer titan Anheuser-Busch InBev NV will swallow up an Ohio beer distribution company in a deal that is expected to close within the next three months, before a new state law takes effect that would bar brewers from owning booze distributors.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Neither Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc., a subsidiary of AB-InBev, nor the family-owned C&G Distributing Co. Inc. offered up a financing breakdown, staying tight-lipped on details except to say the sale would close in the “near future.”
