Roku Asks ITC To Toss Patent Suit Over TV Box Controllers

Law360, New York (May 22, 2013, 3:59 PM EDT) -- Streaming video device maker Roku Inc. urged the U.S. International Trade Commission on Monday to dismiss allegations by STMicroelectronics Inc. that it was importing products infringing ST patents, saying there was no domestic industry to protect by banning the imports.

Roku, a manufacturer of TV boxes that provide streaming video and gaming, said ST is based overseas and had not proven the ITC would be helping American industry by banning the controllers used with Roku consoles, which contain components that allegedly infringe ST’s patented motion-tracking technology....
