Texas Judge Indicted On Abuse Of Office Charges

Law360, Houston (May 22, 2013, 10:29 PM EDT) -- A Texas judge on Wednesday was indicted in state court on criminal charges that he routinely abuses his authority to retaliate against attorneys with whom he has personal conflicts at the expense of litigants.

The indictments accuse Galveston County Court at Law Judge Christopher Dupuy of two felony counts of obstruction or retaliation, two misdemeanor counts of official oppression and four misdemeanor counts of abuse of official capacity, stemming from alleged actions the judge took against local attorneys, judges and the district clerk.
