Fla. Gov. Appoints Orange County Judge To Appeals Court

Law360, New York (May 29, 2013, 2:37 PM EDT) -- Florida Gov. Rick Scott has tapped Orange County Circuit Court Judge Frederic Rand Wallis to serve on the state's Fifth District Court of Appeal, he announced Wednesday.

Judge Wallis, 45, currently sits on the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida — a court he has occupied since 2008. When he joins the Fifth District Court of Appeal, he will replace Judge Bruce Jacobus, who is slated to retire on May 31, according to Gov. Scott's office. On Wednesday, Gov.
