NZ's Ebos Inks $888M Deal For Aussie Drug Wholesaler

Law360, New York (May 29, 2013, 7:49 PM EDT) -- Ebos Group Ltd., a New Zealand pharmaceutical and veterinary products wholesaler, said Wednesday it had agreed to acquire Australia's Symbion Ltd. in an $888.5 million deal that will make it New Zealand's third-largest publicly traded company.

Symbion's parent company, Hong Kong-based Zuellig Group Inc., will take a 40 percent stake in Ebos as part of the deal, adding to its holdings in New Zealand that also include a 30 percent interest in pharmacy retailer Pharmacybrands. Symbion is Australia's leading pharmaceutical wholesaler and distributor by revenue....
