EU Imposes Anti-Dumping Tariffs On Chinese Solar Panels

Law360, New York (June 4, 2013, 6:06 PM EDT) -- The European Commission on Tuesday decided to levy anti-dumping duties on solar panels and their components imported from China, after concluding the devices were being sold in Europe for well below fair-market value and harming domestic manufacturers.

The temporary duties are set to escalate over the six-month period they're in effect, starting off at 11.8 percent until Aug. 6, then climbing to 47.6 percent for the following four months. The tariffs, which China had said could ignite a trade war, are being phased in to avoid...
