GSK Asks Senate To Rethink Patent Reform Act

Law360, New York (January 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The chief executive of pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline Plc has urged senators to rethink a key provision of the Patent Reform Act, according to a letter acquired by the PLI patent blog.

In the letter obtained by patent attorney Gene Quinn, editor and lead contributor to the blog, GSK objected to a section of the Senate bill that would require patent applicants to submit an exhaustive search report, including a patentability analysis and a search of prior art.
