Chrysler Refuses Feds' Request To Recall 2.7M Jeeps

Law360, New York (June 4, 2013, 7:58 PM EDT) -- Chrysler Group LLC on Tuesday rejected the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's request that it recall 2.7 million vehicles because they could catch fire in a rear-end collision, saying the agency misanalyzed safety data.

NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation sent Chrysler a letter Monday asking it to recall Jeep Grand Cherokees from model years 1993 to 2004 and Jeep Liberty vehicles from model years 2002 to 2007.
