Ex-MCSi Chief Gets 2 Years After 6th Circ. Nixes Light Penalty

Law360, New York (June 4, 2013, 6:35 PM EDT) -- The former CEO of MCSi Inc., whose securities fraud conviction landed him only seven days in prison before the Sixth Circuit vacated the light penalty, was resentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay $5 million by an Ohio federal court Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge Sandra S. Beckwith sentenced Michael E. Peppel, 46, to two years imprisonment for his involvement in a scheme to defraud investors of millions of dollars by misreporting company revenues, Ohio federal prosecutors said Tuesday.
