Monsanto Says Better Tests Show GMO Wheat 'Isolated'

Law360, New York (June 5, 2013, 3:01 PM EDT) -- Monsanto Co. reiterated its belief Wednesday that the unapproved presence of the company's genetically modified wheat in Oregon was an isolated event, saying it had given concerned foreign governments a more precise method to ensure that exports hadn't been contaminated.

Using what it called a sophisticated test to screen for the specific strain of herbicide-resistant Roundup Ready wheat discovered in Oregon last month, Monsanto said it had further confirmed its opinion that only a small number of plants contained the modified genetic material.
