Hatch Targets White House Over ACA Cost Increases

Law360, New York (June 5, 2013, 6:32 PM EDT) -- Upset about rising cost estimates for health care premium subsidies, Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, on Wednesday called for the Obama administration to account for recent and unexpected expenditure increases under the Affordable Care Act.

Hatch said the White House has failed to give any explanation for sharp cost hikes for the ACA's Advance Premium Tax Credit, which rose from an estimated $15.6 billion in the president's 2012 estimate for his fiscal year 2014 budget to $32.3 billion this year.
